Ruth Simpson, Executive Coach

Ruth enables leaders and teams to adapt to change and achieve their goals. She is an experienced executive coach (Master Practitioner EMCC Global EIA) who blends coaching with consulting and facilitation. Clients include Senior, Executive and Board level leaders, in the private and public sector, partnerships, start-ups and global multinationals. Engagements encompass transitions, leading change and transformation and developing collective intelligence to address complex challenges.

With high credibility, Ruth creates supportive, challenging relationships. Clients describe her as being pragmatic, direct, skilled, flexible and empathetic. Alongside her practice, Ruth is conducting pioneering PhD research into Group Coaching for Leaders making the transition into senior positions. This has given her an in depth understanding of the psychological process of transition, as well as the knowledge and skills to work with Groups and Teams at an advanced level.

In addition to her practice and research, Ruth is passionate about transforming lives through education. She worked alongside Olympian David Hemery to deliver a soft legacy from the London Olympics, through developing coaching skills in schools. This inspired her to become a Governor, then Chair of Governors of a school and she now sits on the board of the Bourne Education Trust.

Before focusing on coaching, Ruth held roles within PwC, Esso and Mobil. She worked on change management programmes, process redesign, culture change and leadership development and in sales, marketing, PR and distribution.
